The Salish Weave Collection, as part of the Victoria Collects exhibition, demonstrates that a passion for the art of our region can translate beyond amassing and decorating to sharing and educating.

Focusing exclusively on works by contemporary Coast Salish artists, George and Christiane Smyth dream of seeing this unique art with its distinct and traditional forms, recognized and appreciated worldwide in a similar way as Northwest Coast art. They have lent and donated far and wide to promote to a broader audience the work of artists such as Susan Point, lessLIE, and Luke Marston.
